This journey continues to bring so much love and joy to our life! I sent Shahar a necklace with a pendant of Oregon. It came with one heart cut out over Portland, but asked that a second heart be cut out. I wanted her to have something to hold close her heart until she has her precious angels in her arms.
Today marks 12w 2d and the babies are growing and doing great. We had the first trimester screening today and got to see two beautifully developing brains, 4 chambers of their hearts, and both of them sticking their tongues in and out. It was a very special day for Shahar and Roi, as they have never been able to make it past this point in their pregnancies. They were overjoyed to hear that both of their little angles are happy and healthy. We even got a sneak peak at the sex of the babies!! We have known their sex since before the embryos were transferred so it was fun to see if the ultrasound tech would be able to tell this early.
Any guesses??
I have been free from all hormone therapies for a week and a half now and I feel great! I have been able to work out everyday and the nausea is just about completely gone. I will have two different glucose screenings since I am at increased risk with a twin pregnancy with two placentas. I will go in sometime in the next week and then again between 24 and 26 weeks. 38 weeks is the cut off for DiDi twins so these babies will be born on or before July 6th. I say bake them as long as possible. I was also told I need to gain 40-60 pounds. I have heard from a lot of family and friends, wondering how I will fit two babies on my tiny frame. But what you may not know is that I was 200lb when I had Jackson, so I will weigh less with twins than I did with Jackson....plus I am so much healthier this go around. I trust that my body will bounce back just fine!!
We have been so excited to see Shahar and Roi and knew that they would wait until we made it beyond the 1st trimester before they planned to travel to the states. We were surprised and speechless when they asked if we would come to Tel Aviv to visit and meet their family and friends!
So in less than a month we will be traveling across the world to bring these babes to their hometown!!
We are so blessed to be given this opportunity of a lifetime and we cannot wait to see where these babies will grow, learn, live, love and be loved.
I will be getting a lot of ultrasounds with this pregnancy to make sure they are growing evenly. So far they are sharing the territory perfectly! This is one of my favorite shots of both of them....
So much to look forward to in the weeks and months to come!! As for now, I feel great, the babies are doing great and Shahar and Roi have a lot to celebrate!! They can finally share their wonderful news with their family and friends!!
LIFE IS GOOD!!
